The strength of my site is that I have a lot of good quality original content. If I reuse some of the content on a blog with blogspot.com would search engines notice and penalise me for duplicate content?
Now this is the good trick from Laurie and David :
1) The site and the blog will have compleatly different templates including the little add on bits you have on each, so they are not identical.
2) Take the leading paragraph from each of ten site pages and use these to form one blog page with links to the original pages to read the whole article. Inline text links would be good.
3) Don;t publish it in entirety. As mentioned LINK to the full article. The gernal rule of thumb is at least 60% original conent on a page.
4) I've been doing this for 3 years and have good PR, traffic and great SE results. I was worried about duplicate content when I first heard about it, but apprently this isn't duplicate content. I do it a little different. I truncate the articles on my blog and put them on my main web page with a link back to the complete article. Another thing is I'm using java RSS to do this, so the engines can't really "see" it.
